Terra Calaway Leaves WILD!

Las Vegas, NV. - Today on Twitter, it was revealed that WILD's reigning North American Champion, Terra Calaway and WILD Wrestling have parted ways.

@TerraCalaway wrote the following.

To my dear WILD fans, I regret to inform you that WILD and Terra Calaway have parted ways. I hope you continue to support the ladies...
... like you always have and I hope you continue to support me in my other bookings and adventures. I wish WILD the best and hope they...
... really take off into an amazing product. I just won't be part of it at this time. Best wishes.

@WILD_Wrestling also tweeted about the matter.

& WILD Wrestling have parted ways. We thank her for her time, effort and work during the last year. Good luck at
As a result, the WILD North American Championship is now vacant. We will let you all know what our plans for the title are soon.
This was an amicable split for reasons that I will not discuss, but if it is right for both parties, we'd love to have her back.
Promoters: you can't go wrong with her. Book  for your show before she gets snatched up by one of the big 2.
As you can all see, there's a lot happening here right now. We are in the middle of restructuring a lot of things. We are not done, but...
There are about to be a lot of changes around WILD. Stay tuned.

Jessicka Havok, who had not yet made her first appearance for WILD has also left the roster.

WILDMania II - Ashley's Pick

Our final WILDMania II entry comes from WILD Co-General Manager Ashley Massaro. Speaking to us by phone from Miami, Ashley told us her favorite WILD match.

"I'd definitely have to pick Katarina vs. Tab Jackson (from Las Vegas in August, 2011). I've known Katarina for years, from back when we were with the WWE and it was great that she won the WILD World Championship. She really deserves everything she gets. And Tab really put up a fight. It was a great match."

Unfortunately, the footage for that match is still unavailable (it should be viewable soon) so instead, we will show you footage of Ashley at that OTHER show with Mania in the title. This is from WWE's Wrestlemania 24. And if you look closely, you will also see Katarina among the lumberjills.

WILDMania - Jeff Meacham's Pick

Jeff Meacham, the Media Relations coordinator of WILD Wrestling, has made his pick for WILDMania II.

My favorite match in WILD history is the triple threat match in which Lucky O’Shea defeated defending champion The Fabulous Thunderkitty and Liz Savage to become the new WILD World Champion. I enjoyed this match for several reasons. I had the honor of doing color commentary on this match with the infamous Kris Kloss, which is always an adventure! I also had the privilege of raising Lucky’s hand upon her victory, which was a long time coming, as I was there in Lucky’s early days in the industry and was so proud of her!

WILDMania II - Travis' Pick

Travis Leland, the founder, owner and co-General Manager of WILD, had to get in on this.

"My favorite match is the very first one, Chloe vs. Kiara Dillon in May, 2010. It was an experiment that has really paid off and it laid the groundwork for what came after. And it was a pretty good match, too."

WILDMania II - Stephen Marsh's Pick

Stephen Marsh is the president of the WILD Fan Club and the mind behind the @WILDFANCLUB Twitter account. He is the Head Minion of Ohio and a longtime supporter of everything WILD. Although not a part of the inner workings of the company, he is on friendly terms with everyone in the organization and often buys WILD t-shirts and sends them to other fans.

So we figured Marsh would be a great addition to WILDMania. We asked him what his favorite match in WILD history was.

"Tab Jackson vs. Aiden Riley (from February 25, 2011) is my favorite match. Not only was it a good match, but it is when Katarina debuted. And it's the first WILD match I ever saw."

It looks like after he saw this match, he was hooked for life. So it definitely deserves a place in WILDMania II.

WILDMania II - Terra's Pick

Terra Calaway, the WILD North American Champion, was asked to pick her favorite WILD match. Like other WILD Warriors who were asked, she was not allowed to choose a match in which she participated. Her response?

"Lucky O'Shea vs. Amanda on April 22nd, 2011. I love this match because both girls showed what fierce competitors they are. It's always a tough battle when you're in the ring with either of them."

Let's use the Wayback Machine and take a look at Terra Calaway's pick for WILDMania II.

WILDMania II - Prairie's Pick

Prairie is a loyal WILD Minion from Windsor, Ontario, Canada, who has been a die-hard fan since seeing her first WILD match on YouTube. In fact, she is such a true believer that when she found out that Ashley Massaro was coming to Los Angeles for an autograph signing, she flew from Canada JUST TO MEET ASHLEY! She is also the Head Minion of Ontario, and will co-ordinate Minion activities there, while training to become a professional wrestler herself. She tells us her dream job is to be a WILD Warrior in the future.

How could we NOT include her in WILDMania II?

"My favorite WILD match is Tab Jackson vs. Lucky O'Shea from December 2010. I think Lucky and Tab are great wrestlers. I also liked the outcome of the match."

So here is Prarie's pick as part of WILDMania II...

WILDMania II - Lucky O'Shea's Pick

Our first offering for WILDMania II comes from former WILD World Champion Lucky O'Shea. We asked her what her favorite match in WILD history is. We told her she was not allowed to pick a match that featured herself. Her response was...

"My favorite match was Terra Calaway vs. Katarina from last December because it was put together so well. Terra showed how good she really is and Katarina is just cool to watch. She's very unique."

So here is the match, in it's entirety. By the way, this was also voted the 2011 Match of the Year by our fans, so what better way to kick off WILDMania II?

WILDMania II

LOS ANGELES, CA. - It seems there is a major pro wrestling, erm, sports-entertainment show on this weekend. Most everyone wants to see it. But you know what? It's pretty expensive. It is also the time of year that people who are only casual fans of this industry start to watch more. So this is the perfect opportunity to show your friends, family and anyone else who you deem worthy what WILD Wrestling is all about.

Last year, WILDMania was a playlist of every match, promo, etc. in WILD's history in chronological order. This year, in order to get through that, you would have to sit in front of your computer for quite some time. So we decided to try something different. We asked different people what their favorite WILD match is and why. We have asked some of the people who work behind the scenes. We have spoken to a few die-hard fans and Minions. Even the WILD Warriors have chimed in (they were not allowed to pick their own matches).

So all this weekend, we will be presenting the hand-picked favorite matches as WILDMania II.

Stay tuned and spread the word.

WILD Wrestling Update

Los Angeles, CA. - Although we've been silent for a while, there are a few things coming up soon here at WILD Wrestling.

  • WILD World Champion Katarina has accepted the challenge of Shelly Martinez for a match for her coveted title. We are working out a place and time that will fit both of their busy schedules. But trust us, this match WILL happen.
  • WILD North American Champion Terra Calaway will soon be in the ring with her top contender, WSU World and WSU Spirit Champion Jessicka Havok. Last year, Havok challenged Calaway for the North American title, and has been on a huge streak ever since. Havok will make her WILD debut soon. We have scheduled this match, but are waiting to announce it at an appropriate time. Calaway, on the other hand, will make her WSU debut later this year.
  • Ashley Massaro IS STILL with WILD Wrestling. Earlier statements regarding her status with the company were erroneous. Ms. Massaro is still the Co-General Manager, and we will hear from her in the near future.
  • All our energies are being put toward the goal of having our first full card/iPPV later this year. We are hard at work to make this a reality, even though it means that other things will remain quiet while we do so. We will still have our army of WILD Minions, but we've moved that project back a few months. We believe in quality, not quantity. We would rather have one quality show per year than numerous mediocre offerings.
Until next time...

The State of WILD Address

Dear WILD Warriors and WILD Minions,

Over the last few days, there has been a small storm brewing, and I thought I would take this time to explain and clarify a few things, to hopefully put some peoples’ minds at ease and to take a look at what is coming up soon in WILD Wrestling. Everything I will discuss now is absolutely true, and if you do not want to “peek behind the curtain,” so to speak, then please stop reading now. But I have always made it a point never to lie to the fans, or the people who work with me to make this company a reality. So I will tell you all exactly what is going on, the good and the bad. WILD Wrestling is truly at a crossroads, and the next few months will be very interesting indeed.

Back in August, I made a risky move. Ashley Massaro contacted me and wanted to be a part of this organization. After weighing the pros and cons, I decided to bring her into WILD Wrestling in a non-wrestling capacity. She assured me that she was training regularly for her in-ring return. We spoke about having her film a lot of that training (at a very reputable and well-known wrestling school that I will not name) that I could edit into a reality show of sorts. I have always been the kind of man that gives people a chance at redemption, and although many people were advising me not to do it, I gave Miss Massaro her chance. For a few months, all was well. We spoke on the phone constantly. We had a lot of fun at our photo shoot and while filming the segment with the fan. Around the holidays, however, Miss Massaro suddenly disappeared. She had told me she was spending time over the holidays with her family. But ever since, she has not responded to any emails, text messages, phone calls, Tweets or any other messages. So I am afraid that this risky move has not paid off. I sincerely hope that Ashley Massaro is able to sort things out. I’d personally like to hear from her again, even if only on a friendly basis. Right now, however, it is time to move on without her.

This brings me to what seems to be a hot topic lately. I understand that more than one of the women listed on our website as WILD Warriors are not happy at the moment. They have been making comments in Social Media and it appears that they are concerned that they have not been booked in WILD matches recently (or some at all) and that I am, in a sense, using them as false advertising. I understand that in this business, there are a lot of shady promoters who will do all sorts of underhanded things to get people to notice their product, including making grand promises of big names who will appear, and then announcing at the last moment that the worker could not appear. I know you just have to take me at my word on this, but that is not and has never been my intention for including you on the roster. Here is how somebody becomes a WILD Warrior. Either I contact them, or they contact me. I tell them that they become part of a talent pool that I can use to book from. I tell them that at this point, the bookings are going to be few and far between, as we do not run full shows, but rather showcase matches on other promoters’ cards. But they are still there, listed as Warriors in order to make potential sponsors more interested in our product. And I always ask specifically for permission to put them on the roster page of the WILD website. I absolutely intend, when the time is right, to book full shows, utilizing the full roster of WILD Warriors. However, WILD is not in a position, financial or otherwise, to be able to do that just yet. I have made it my personal goal to run our first full card before the end of 2012. I renew that promise to all of you, Warriors and Minions, now.

Which brings me to the next point. When WILD began, we had a number of affiliate companies in Southern California. Some of those affiliates have closed shop, others have stopped working with us due to creative differences and still others have seen the value of breaking off to start their own women’s divisions. The number of promotions that recognize the WILD Championships (in America) has dwindled, making it more difficult to run on a regular basis on the West Coast.

Yet, there is some hope. We will begin working with Apex Pro starting with their third show, in just a few months’ time. We still have an arrangement with FreakShow Wrestling. We have been contacted by another company in Southern California who is interested in having WILD matches very soon. And in England, UKW is taping their TV show “UK Women’s Wrestling Gets WILD” and will be defending the WILD European Championship on their show. I am very excited about a lot of things that are being planned right now.

But here is where it gets tricky. Many people are under the misconception that WILD is a wrestling promotion. We are not. WILD is a sanctioning organization, similar to the NWA or AIWF. We hope to eventually transition into a hybrid company that still has the affiliation program while running internet pay per views under our own banner 2-3 times per year. In that way, the WILD Warriors would still get to defend the championships all over the place, but there would be a more traditional system in place as well for fans to follow. The most important thing for WILD at this point is to continue to grow. Those WILD Minions who ask “When will you come out here and have matches in my town?” need to be more proactive. Contact your local independent wrestling promotion and tell them to contact us. If they become a WILD affiliate company, then the opportunity arises to have the Warriors come to their shows. For you WILD Warriors that are wondering when we will book you in WILD-sanctioned matches, ask the promoters of the shows in your upcoming schedule to contact us. Maybe that match you are already scheduled for will become a WILD match. The best way for WILD to expand is if everybody from the fans to the workers to myself all buckle down and get the brand out there.

Until then, we have a few upcoming matches to promote...

Shelly Martinez has challenged WILD World Champion Katarina to a match. We are nearing a deal for the date, promotion and place. We will tell you all when things become more finalized.

Jessicka Havok, the WSU Spirit Champion, has challenged WILD North American Champion Terra Calaway to a match. We can tell you that this will happen at Apex Pro in the near future, but we do not yet know a date.

To sum it all up, things are moving slowly here, but they are moving. We just need to be a little more patient and proactive, taking steps toward growth, and everyone will get what they want.

Thank you all for your time, your tireless hard work, and your support. I am ever grateful.

2 WILD Warriors appear for WWE!

Los Angeles, CA. - When World Wrestling Entertainment came to Southern California recently, they were looking for two female wrestlers to make an appearance in a TV commercial also starring WWE Superstar Sheamus. Lizzy Valentine and Buggy Nova, two WILD Warriors, filled those roles. Also, Buggy was given the special honor of wrestling in a tryout match against AJ Lee in a dark match before a live event.

In the past, Lizzy has been approached by WWE, but has turned down their offers due to other commitments. This is Buggy's first work for WWE. When the commercial is released, you will be able to find it in our "WILD Warriors' Outside Projects" subsection (found to the left of the screen).

The Minions Will Rise!

Every day, we get many texts, emails, Tweets and so forth asking me when WILD will have a match in (name of city)? We get asked how fans can get more involved in WILD. We have been doing a lot of thinking about this recently, and we have come to some conclusions.

We have spoken at length recently about how much the fans mean to WILD Wrestling. We have been coming up with ways to make the fans a more important part of this company and we think we have found a way to do it.

JOIN THE MINION TROOPS!

You will now have a chance to join the Minions and become an official member of the WILD Fan Club. All you have to do is look to the left of the screen and find the "Join The Minions" page, then leave a comment stating your name, Facebook or Twitter account, location and the words "I'm doing MY part!" You will then be contacted by somebody giving you further instructions.

PROJECT MAINSTREAM!

Once you become a WILD Minion, you will have the opportunity to move up in rank, from "Entrant" to "Plebe" to "Official Minion" to "Veteran Minion" to "Head Minion." To do this, you must complete certain requirements or "Missions" that will help to spread the word about WILD Wrestling to the masses. We call this "Project Mainstream" and it is your duty as a Minion to participate in it, to help WILD Wrestling take over and become the number one women's professional wrestling company in the world.

HELP US HELP YOU!

If you want WILD Wrestling to be the dominant organization we all know it can be, and if you want us to come to your local independent wrestling company, you need to help us get there. When you become a WILD Minion, you will have access to materials that you can print out to give to your local promoter. The WILD World Championship can be defended anywhere, so get it out there! The North American and European Championships are available on their respective continents as well, so you have more than one option when you want your local indie company to Go WILD.

WHAT DO I GET?

When you become a WILD Minion, you will have access to discounts on merchandise like t-shirts, DVDs, autographed photos and even one-of-a-kind personalized video messages from your favorite WILD Warriors! And you will get the satisfaction of knowing that you are helping a unique and exciting product grow.

SO GO WILD AND JOIN THE MINIONS TODAY!
